REQUIRED TRAVEL ID FOR AMERICAN CITIZENS:

 

DOMESTIC AIR: A REAL ID driver's license or valid passport is now required

INTERNATIONAL AIR: A passport valid for a minimum of six months is required. A visa may also be required, depending on destination.

 

CRUISES:

Travel ID required for cruises that begin and end at the same AMERICAN port (called a closed-loop cruise):

*A regular passport (called a passport book) valid for a minimum of six months post-cruise, or a passport card, or two forms of matching ID: an original, certified, state-issued birth certificate (NOT hospital-issued/not a photocopy), AND a matching government ID with photo, such as a driver's license. If the two forms of ID don't match, a bridge document will necessary, such as an original marriage certificate.

Children 15 and younger: A passport valid for a minimum of six months post-cruise, or an original, certified, state-issued birth certificate (not hospital-issued/not a photocopy). 

Exceptions: Princess and Holland America require passports of all travelers if a minor is traveling with only one parent or other adult. If you are traveling with a child adopted from a foreign country, passports might also be required. Please inform Jo-Ann Moss about either scenario.

Those carrying Mexican passports must now secure an eVisa to enter Canada, even if visiting briefly on a cruise. There may be other requirements for non-American citizens. Check with Jo-Ann Moss.

Some countries in the Caribbean require a passport even on a closed-loop cruise, including Costa Rica, Panama, Martinique and Columbia. And many junior luxury and luxury cruise lines mandate a passport, regardless of itinerary. Info will be shared at deposit and final payment.

A passport valid for a minimum of six months post travels is the very safest form of travel ID. In an emergency you will need a passport to fly back to the U.S.

Travel ID required for one-way cruises: 

A regular passport (passport book) valid for at least six months post cruise, regardless of age.

Please be aware that there are certain excursions on an Alaska cruise that enter Canada. On these excursions a passport book or passport card might be required, regardless of age. Inquire with Jo-Ann Moss.

Land and cruise travel completely outside the United States: 

A passport valid for a minimum of six months post-trip is required, regardless of age. A visa may also be necessary; this information will be shared at the time of your booking.
